Production of pharmaceutical syrups

Pharmaceutical industry is an industry which engages itself in developing, producing and marketing drugs. Drugs can be used internally or externally in the form of capsules, tablets, syrup, ointments, etc.

Production of this wide range of medicine requires highly hygienic and aseptic equipment along with the environment to prevent any microbial activities. INOXPA equipment is a popular and trusted brand among the OEM’s all over the world.

INOXPA products are widely used in the production of numerous production processes such as preparation of glucose, lactose, ointment, syrups and other drugs.

Recently, INOXPA successfully executed a turnkey project in Spain for the production of pharmaceutical syrups for one of our pharmaceutical clients.

Upon the evaluation of the project our team designed the complete plant, set it up and carried out testing and validation procedures.

Preparation of Pharmaceutical Syrups

The production plant consists of 4 preparation reactors with a capacity of 3000L. Moreover, a load cell weighing system is installed to control the ingredient addition of 14 different preparations. The reactors are also equipped with heating/cooling jacket along with the 8 diaphragm valves.

From two clean rooms attached to the plant, ingredients can be added to all 4 preparation reactors, vacuum is used to add solid and some liquid base ingredient through the lower part of the preparation reactors.

Syrups and suspensions are homogenised and dispersed by means of bottom saw-tooth propellers, magnetic agitators and mixers. The anchor type agitators installed in the reactors for preparation of viscous products are provided with nitrogen barrier mechanical seals.

There are two reactors designed for other preparations, a manifold with twelve diaphragm valves and two inline mixers were installed for this purpose; this equipment permits the selection of a tank, recirculation in the same tank and selection of a reactor while the preparation is homogenised.
