European Hygienic and Design Group (EHEDG) is a consortium of equipment manufacturers, food industries, research institutes and public health authorities which is founded in 1989 whose agenda is to promote the production and packaging of food products hygienically.
The objective of the consortium is to use hygienic equipments in a hygienic environment while handling of food products for further production. EHEDG provides a set of practical guidelines and standards on hygienic engineering aspects to help complying with these requirements globally.
EHEDG publishes guidelines on different aspects of hygienic design and provides certification for industries on equipment used in the food industry.
