According to the Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic producers, cream is a semisolid emulsion, intended for external application, of mixture of oil and water and can be divided into two types:
- Oil in water creams (o/w)
- Water in oil creams (w/o)
Applications:
- Pharmaceutical: Pharmaceutical creams contain an active ingredient used for medicinal purpose and require prescription from the medical practitioner often used to cure the skin related problems such as rashes, fungal infections & to heal the wounds etc.
- Cosmetics: Cosmetic creams do not contain any medicinal reagent and may does not require any prescription often used for makeup, moisturizing, cleansing, nourishing & to prevent wrinkles or acne.

- Melting Vat
- Production Vat
- Finished Product
- Filling Process

INOXPA offers solutions to production processes of the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.
The equipment used in the cream production process at several phases of cream production are as given:
- VAT or Jacketed Tank with loading port is used for processes like melting the fats and waxes, mixing and melting process and to store the finished product for filling process.
- Counter rotating agitator is required for mixing the hot water with material (fats & waxes) for melting and mixing process.
- Emulsifier is used for reducing the particle size of the ingredients and brings smoothness to the cream by emulsification.
- Pumps are used at various phases to transfer the products from the melting vat to the production vat and to the finished product vat for further process of filling.
- STERIPIG is used to clean the residual in the pipeline after the batch process completes.
- Valves and filters are used in various applications with of the production process.
