SLES Dilution System

Sodium Loreth Sulphate (SLES) is a high active surfactant that finds applications in cosmetic and household care sectors. SLES is widely used in the production of shampoos, gels, soaps and other cleaning products.  The cosmetics, personal and household care sectors usually order concentrated SLES to avoid storage cost and dilute it at their own factory premises for further production of shampoos, gels and other personal-household cleaning products.

Dilution process of SLES is very challenging task as the concentrated SLES has the gel like properties and if diluted it incorrectly it can form lumps.

INOXPA analyzes requirements of SLES dilution for applications like preparation of shampoo, soaps, gels and other cleaning agents and offers its SLES Dilution system.

SLES dilution system offers the production of SLES with adequate concentration of 26% based on the concentrate and network water. Dilution process through INOXPA SLES dilution system is given below:

The SLES concentrate is delivered by a progressive cavity pump to a high shear "multitooth" mixer where it is diluted with water. A positive displacement pump is used as the viscosity of the product at a concentration of 70% is 10.000 cP.

The pump is controlled by a flow meter that ensures a fixed flow rate regulating the speed of the pump by means of a frequency converter.

The network water is delivered to the "multitooth" mixer by a progressive cavity pump that owing to a flow meter and frequency converter guarantees a constant flow. The preservatives and necessary additives are added to the water line by metering pumps.

The two products are diluted in the mixer to the required SLES concentration.

AISI 316L for parts in contact with the media.

AISI 304 for other metallic parts and control panel.

Stators of the progressive cavity pumps are of black NBR (FDA standard).

C/Cer/NBR mechanical seal for the pump.

C/SiC/EPDM mechanical seal for multitooth mixer.

EPDM (FDA standard) gaskets.

The surface is Ra ≤ 0,8 μm.
